Are you someone who is very good at looking after everyone else to the exclusion of yourself?
You do such a great job of being there for everyone and taking care of their needs. However, the truth is your “good girl” world, is going to rob you of your own life. So many people, especially women, take on the role of caretaker. What they don’t realise, is the high personal price they pay for taking on this role.
How do you value yourself?
How do you feel about not having time for yourself?
Does the idea of really looking after your own needs sound selfish, arrogant and uncaring?
How does the idea of scheduling time in your calendar, for yourself every day, sound to you?
What would it take to make that a reality?
How would it be to not take on any commitments which are done out of resentment or obligation?
If life is running away from you in this way, it will continue to gain speed unless you put on the brakes.
Take a look at each area of your life - health, family, friends, work, finance, spiritual, social. Give yourself a score out of 10 for each area. How do you feel about each part of your life at this point in time?
The chances are that you feel you haven’t time to so much as go to the loo, let alone find time to think about what you need in your life. You can’t change everything all at once. What internal perceptions would you need to change in order to start allowing life-improving changes to occur?
A great life starts with an open mind and inner healing when we hurt. Why wait for your world to come crashing down around you before you take action?
