Use LinkedIn Posts to promote your business

Want to get more people reading and responding to your blog posts?

Don’t ignore LinkedIn – especially as you now have the facility to use LinkedIn Post, which is a way of publishing your blog within LinkedIn.

We are seeing terrific results with our clients, with one blog post topping 400 shares within a few hours of publishing. What’s not to like about that sort of exposure and readership?

If you’re not sure what that is or how it works here’s a quick guide:

Where is it?

LinkedIn Posts appears when you click on a small pen-shaped icon on the "Share an update" area. 

When your mouse hovers over it the words ‘Create a Post’ will appear.

You’re in!

Do I just type in my copy?

You can, but it might be safer to prepare your copy in Word or whatever other text program you use and then copy and paste into the LinkedIn Posts area you’ve just created.

Before posting – remember that people are much more likely to read your copy if you have a superb image and a top quality headline or subject field to grab their attention.

What’s so special about LinkedIn Post?

One of the huge benefits of LinkedIn is your ability to establish and develop a reputation as an authority on your field of expertise.

It also enables you to raise your profile by providing oodles of helpful stuff. Do that and people will always look out for your profile picture in their feeds.

LinkedIn Post is a brilliant tool for doing just that.

Is that it?

Heck, no! Remember to share your valuable insight across all the social media platforms on which you are active.

TwitterFacebookG+ and e-newsletters are also valuable tools in your armoury, so spread the word far and wide.

What’s the aim?

Think carefully about the desired outcome.

If you want to get people signing up for your e-newsletter make sure you have a means of capturing their email address.

If you want to connect on other social media platforms provide links.

If you want people to buy a specific product as a result of what they’ve read ensure that you add a very clear Call To Action before they leave the post.
