How To Grow Your Sales Using Your Sales Skills

We all know that creating leads is a vital part of growing one's business. However, if you do not have the necessary skills to convert them into sales then you need to rethink of different ways on how to grow your sales. Before you do find other ways to do that, ask yourself if you have the essential skills that will get the job done. Do you know what you are capable of? How good are you at selling your products and services? Have you undergone training to hone your skills? What do you do when you hit a dead end when it comes to converting your leads to sales?

How to grow your sales: Improvement is the key

Most entrepreneurs are not going to admit it right away but it is essential that, as an entrepreneur, you need to be aware of what you are capable of and you need to accept it. If you want to grow your business and be successful at it, accepting what you can and cannot do is the first thing you need to do. Now, all you have to do is learn what you can do to improve yourself as an entrepreneur. If you are not good at selling or converting leads, then you have to find ways to improve yourself.

How to grow your sales: Where are you in terms of your capabilities?

There are different stages that all of us go through. If you want to be successful in growing your business, then you need to know where you are at this point. As aforementioned, the psychologist has pinpointed four stages of competence.

  1. The first stage is unconscious competence. It is when a person does not have enough knowledge and the skill but the person is unaware that he or she needs the skill or even training to improve it.

  2. The second stage is called conscious incompetence. This is when you have realised that there are still skills that you need to learn and you are completely aware that there are others who are more competent than you.

  3. The third stage is called conscious competence. In this stage, a person has acquired the necessary skills and knowledge and he or she is aware that there are other people that are more competent than them.

  4. The fourth stage is the unconscious competence. These individuals have the necessary skills and knowledge and they are confident about using it. The knowledge and skills are already part of their daily routine and using them do not require effort.

So which stage do you belong? Once you have determined where you are, then you will be able to pinpoint your next move. The tricky part is accepting where you are right now and dealing with how you will improve for the better especially if your goal is to efficiently know how to grow your sales.
