Recently, Google made a decision to remove all their PPC adverts found on the right portion of the page. This is considered to be a big news for the multinational tech company as they do not really make major changes that often other than the minor fun changes that they do for their logo. With this change, the PPC adverts were lessened from 11 to 7. This would mean more clicks for the companies for the first 3 boxes found at the top portion of the page. Because of this, it is not surprising for a lot of entrepreneurs to wonder how this change could affect advertising and marketing on the internet.
This change will have an impact on organic traffic although it may be difficult to pinpoint how. Let’s just say that Google could have made this move to increase the income for PPC advertising. This would probably be their attempt to increase PPC advertising while decreasing organic advertising.
The less advertisement found on the upper half of the page would cost you more money with higher CPC (cost per click) and bid wars. So, if you are thinking about paying or bidding for your chosen niche, then you have to seriously think about if it is worth it. Unless, you find another niche that you think will be effective for you.
With this new change, you need to be careful with where you spend your money. You have to start reviewing your average position and cost per click for each keyword you chose and how your general adverts for your website’s pages appear on Google. You also have to check out your landing pages and decide if it needs improvement. Remember, your goal is to get a better return on investment from what you invested in.
You can also try to look for new niches to advertise in and be prudent about the money you shell out for your Pay Per Click adverts. You have to learn to measure everything in order for you to have an idea whether what you invested in is working for you. And lastly, you have to take into consideration that it is always good to get to the top spot but it may not be a feasible choice for you financially. You have to balance what you have to give in order to be able to take something out of advertising and marketing on the internet.
