There is an expectation these days that 'good' managers will be coaching their teams and people who are on the 'up' will have a personal or Executive coach. But curiosity about coaching is one of the top reasons managers give for wanting to know more. The feeling that 'I'd just like to know a bit more before I commit to anything' is a common theme.
So what is it? Well, a coach is someone who helps another person unravel their thoughts and become clear again. Simple huh? They don't provide solutions. They don't tell you what to do.
So why does it help? Because, to use an analogy of rally car driving, being the driver of your own thoughts and the navigator is often too much. There's too much going on. A coach is the navigator who helps the driver get from A to B more quickly.
And you can help navigate anyone, in any part of your life - in sales, in business, as a leader, as a manager, as a mother or father, as a partner. Anywhere their are relationships.
If you'd like to know more about how to be a navigator come along to Coaching Essentials at Norden Farm, Maidenhead on 10th June 2-5pm or contact me for more information.
