On a recent trip to Morocco, one of the things that struck me the most was how colourful it was. Every twist and turn around the city you discover an abundance of colour.
Admire the Detail
The detail in the Mosaics and plaster hand carvings at the palaces we visited will have taken an age to create and maintain. That takes loads of patience and that’s not something I have in abundance! As I look at the works of art I appreciate just how patient these very talented people are.
Bull in a China Shop
After appreciating the skill involved I started to look for more and more examples of patience. By finding examples of attention to detail, it made me stop and think about my own levels of this much-needed trait. Being a Taurus, I am sometimes like a bull in a china shop – it’s just how I am!
Others Make Allowances
My family and friends know that’s what I am like and maybe sometimes make allowances for that, not that they tell me of course! My son, however, has the patience of a saint! He is a very detailed person and I know I used to get very impatient with him. He takes forever to make a decision, to eat his meal, to decide on something to buy, to go to bed and it is a trait that has been with him for years – well, I guess that’s what he IS.
Now I Understand
However, now I understand his behavioural style and now that I appreciate that he needs more time to work things out (to make sure all the “i’s” are dotted and the “t’s” are crossed) it creates a far better understanding and greater harmony between us.
My question to you is:
How well do you know your family and friends’ behavioural styles?
Could you take a bit more time to really get to know them in more detail?
Would you like to create more harmony around you – and enjoy a peaceful life..?
I know that we all lead such busy lives but please trust me – once you understand them on a deeper level your relationships with them will improve considerably. Ours has and I value the increased bond and enjoyment that we have created every day.
Greater Harmony Anyone..?
