The Association of Chief Police Officers Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service
(AVCIS) has named Ford Transit Van as the most common vehicle to be stolen. Hot on its heels is the Ford Fiesta, closely followed by the Vauxhall Astra and Vauxhall Corsa, which represent some of the most popular vehicles on the road. There is only a 51% chance of recovering a stolen vehicle.

We are keeping the VAT rate at 15% for you. We will discount the increase on all projects commissioned in January.

Fuel duty is set to increase from April 2010.
The Chancellor has confirmed that fuel duty will increase next year as planned.
He ruled out any further increases in fuel duty, except for those already announced. Fuel duty will increase by one penny per litre in real terms on 1 April each year from 2010 to 2013, he said.

Value Added Tax
The Chancellor has confirmed the VAT will return to 17.50% on January 1st 2010. The rate was cut in the last Pre Budget Report to aid economic recovery. The Chancellor Alistair Darling confirmed the VAT will not rise further

The chancellor Alistair Darling has confirmed he is giving company drivers of electric cars and vans a five-year holiday from Benefit-in-Kind tax.
According to company car tax expert at Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Gary Hull, this means cars solely propelled by electricity will be free from Income Tax and National Insurance contributions for a five-year period from 6 April 2010.

A quick prompt - for any users of Ryanair - they yesterday announced that they were stopping the practice of accepting Visa Electron cards for fee free payments for their flights.
Instead they have signed up with Mastercard prepaid cards, and from Jan 1st next year only these cards will avoid the fee, which can add up to £40 for a family of four.

Hi all, I've been contacted by the organisers of the Wokingham Winter Carnival as they require some marshalls to help look after the parade route.
The marshals meet at Shute End at 15.30 and look after the parade from 16.00 to about 16.50 so it's an easy gig!
